how's this HTPC?

Guest Johnny5g

Yeah, I was gonna say...

HTPCs can easily get away with on-board graphics, which the Pentium G3258 has.

Something like this would probably be more ideal.

there is issues

there is issues

It can be sorted with a USB stick and another computer to download a motherboard BIOS.

Heck, it might not even be required.

Prob won't be required, every time i've seen that occur it's updated out of the box

Yeah, I had a look.

You should be a-OK if you go with the motherboard I suggest. It'll save you a little bit of money than if you went with the ASRock board, and you can still overclock on a B85 platform.

You do not need a z97, go with a b85. Also, if you reconsider here is one with an i5 instead of a pentium:

but what about the BIOS update?

If you do not want to do the update you can go with the h97 from asrock.

That i5 for a HTPC......bit overkill, ain't it?

Actually, I'm not quite sure if you covered the intentions for this system, but what are you looking to use this for? Forgive me if you posted it already; I am kinda tired...it's nearly 3 in the morning here.

I'm seeing an i5-4460 on there. Maybe it's a different link or probable user error...or just me going nuts with sleep deprivation.

But yeah, a Pentium G3258, that MSI 750 Ti, and that board, and you're more or less golden.
