Corsair AF120 QE worth it?

Doughnutnator

Hi guys, there's a "deal" with a local retailer: $16 for Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Purple LED Twin pack.

I have a corsair SPEC-02 with a "custom made pantyhose" fan filter, a Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm as exhaust and the 2 crappy fans that came with the case as intakes.

Do you recommend them?

Also: Can I turn off the purple LED? I kinda don't like a glowing PC and the purple color.

Thanks :D

Nope, nope, and NOPE. Corsair's fans are obnoxiously loud at anything but the lowest rpm settings.

Look at pretty much any other brand, BeQuiet, Noisblockers, or Noctua all make great fans that are far quieter, and push air better.

For $8 each, that's a pretty good deal. Worst case is that you are out the same amount as a nice lunch.

Will look into them, sadly I live in Mexico so usually stuff are pretty expensive and there's not a lot of products here.

That's true! But i'm kinda low on money (girlfriend), i'm asking if it's a good deal/are worth it to save and get them. I don't know if they are better than my actual fans (the ones that came with the SPEC-02) or if they're going to work fine with the dust filter as intakes

They are alright, for $16 thats not half bad.

What's the usual price for them?

Didn't know that they suck, thanks for that info.

Will look into that, sadly those options aren't available in my country/are too freaking expensive, but I don't lose anything by looking into it :)

Some people say that Corsair suck... But, Jayztwocents, one of the best watercoolers out there, uses them and likes them, so they must be doing something right. The QE should be pretty quiet as well.

Thanks :)

What about airflow? Do they move air despite the "quiet" thing?

Also I don't know if my dust filter is too restrictive..
