120/144hz IPS monitor

Yatys 93

Looking for something no larger than 24 inches to go with my upcoming LAN build.

Namely this one: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KPCnvK

like the title says, IPS, 120/144hz and 1080p/1440p not too fussed on the res but I think the single card might start to struggle on the higher res.

what about 120hz? although 60 would be fine if you guys can think of a good one? like I said its just for LAN stuff anyway so I don't need very much out of it as I won't use it all that much, currently live 300 miles away from all my PC buddies so would like something I can take on the train once and leave there. and 1080p is also fine.

i think asus MG279Q is the only 1440p 144hz with an IPS panel https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MG279Q/

but unfortunately its 27 inches

Nothing that size that is IPS and 144hz,

There are only two >60Hz 1440p IPS monitors, and they are both 27". The ASUS MG279Q and the Acer XB270HU.

There are no 1080p 144Hz IPS monitors period.

Damn you three guys need to go back to PC Hardware School:

It's the Eizo Foris FG2421 a 24 inch, 240hz refreshrate  (native 120hz) V&A panel. It's about 400€ here, but I've seen a few with 1 or 2 death pixel going for 250€.

Open your eyes and break your chains. Console peasantry is just a state of mind.

that's a tad expensive for a monitor I will use on the odd occasion I get enough time off work you travel, I'm talking 3 or 4 times a year.

As I said, there are no 1080p 144Hz IPS monitors. A 120Hz VA monitors is not a 144Hz IPS monitor.

Details aside, yes the FG2421 is a good monitor on paper, but is very expensive for what it is and suffers from massive QC issues, which is why I generally don't recommend buying one.

if you rnot gonna use it much, i would look into a 1080 120Hz low latency TN.....what GPU will you be using in this?

not yet, was saving for it then had some stuff come up so it went on the back burner, decided to test out 120hz as I have no intention of replacing the TV any time soon, £500...

ok, what do you have and what do you need? you could tweak some things in that build to save a little and maybe get better performance....

Wait...has this turned into a build help? lol :D

maybe a little, although I'm ok hardware knowledge wise, just suck at monitors :P some of the parts are chosen though as at some point I want to do a custom loop too, so all those parts are water cooling friendly, especially the board with the whole board block that bitspower make. but all I have is the OS and the PSU atm.

feel free to make suggestions, but the SSD is just I really like the corsair GTX drives, so want to try their new one, and I don't want to put multiple HDDs in a PC I am going to have to carry on the london underground :P

I have no experience with Corsair SSD's. If its your boot drive, then maybe a 120-128GB 850 EVO or Intel) more speed, same price basically. For storage, a WD Black isnt practical. A WD Blue or Seagate would be a better choice.
