150$ Max Speaker Setup

Wailyn

Ok I currently have a Logitech z623, and I love it. Dunno if it's because I never listened to anything better or because it's really good, but what I want is something similar or better. I can't get another z623 because it's really expensive right now, and I can't order it online (shipping charges will suck me dry because of its weight).

So I am thinking a pair of bookshelf speakers + a Lepai amp:

The small size is not necessary but a good plus, hence the Pyle and Micca pairs.

What other setups do you recommend? I don't think I can get a sub woofer, but is it necessary in order to get a similar experience as the Logitech z623?

Thanks. ^^

The z623 is legitimatly a good speaker setup, given its price point.  Give me a little bit.

I personally wouldn't get that amp. Its wont be that great.

My suggestion (and what i did) was check craigslist and look for a Home Theater Receiver used...(people usually sell them pretty cheap), and then whatever money you have left over buy speakers...Monoprice has some really good bookshelf speakers.

I tried, but I couldn't find anything on the local craigslist :/

Mackie CR4 or Micca PB42X I think will be good options for your need

I can't get the amp with the Mackie...is it not necessary?

So the PB42X is better than the Sony? 100 watts and stuff :P (no Idea if more is always better)

Yee! And the receiver i got had an optical-in so i didn't have to use a standard audio connectors which is nice. To the OP, Definitly try to get a used Home Theater Receiver... You'll thank me later!

I tried :'(

And if they weren't too heavy, I would have even ordered a new one long ago.

A receiver will fix many...many of my issues. I just can't find a way to order one and not live in a small hut after that :o

Ok I actually found a way to get a receiver, but I dunno how to choose one, and I still don't know which speakers to go with whatever receiver I get. I plan to connect both my PC and PS4 to the receiver. I found many with 4k capability, and I don't care for 4k, which will save me some money. I am currently relying on reviews.

I found a cheap and brand new Denon AVR-1312...should I get? What speakers should I use with it if I do get it? Do I need a subwoofer?

Thanks
