Too much thermal paste?

Kamilz15

i have finished building my pc yesterday and now worrying that i have applied too much thermal paste. My only problem is that it took 20 minutes just to install my dark rock 3 cooler. so in order to check i have to take it off and put it back together again. Should i really be worried about this?

Since you already applied the paste and the system is working at decent temp then your don't have to worry about anything, just remember you only need a dot the size of an uncook grain of rice next time.

I am curious why you think you may have applied too much thermal paste?

If your temps are good and no paste squirted out the sides when you installed the cooler I wouldn't be super concerned about it  :)

It will, don't worry. It's just a bit bigger. Nothing should be wrong.

To be honest, too much is preferable to too little.

Not ideal, necessarily, but if it's just a little bigger than pea-sized, you shouldn't be too concerned.
