I went from 7-9 mbps to 60 mbps during the fiber upgrade. Honestly after having it for just over a month I couldn't go back.

I have FTTC. It's very hard to get FTTP in the UK, unfortunately.

Sitting at 40/10 right now, but will be upgrading the plan soon as the line can support 70/20

17 mbps isn't really measly, most people on copper have an average download speed of about ~6-7 mbps. Unless you are constantly downloading, you probably won't notice the upgrade to fibre (40mbps). 17 mbps is plenty for streaming right?

I do. Fibre has been rolled out pretty aggressively some places in Denmark, and luckily, I am in one of those areas.

Also don't have it.

I'm sitting in fucking Germany, a country you might think has enough money to place fibre across the whole planet, but I'm sitting here with 2Mb/s down and 0.2Mb/s up.

WOOOOHOOO  <_<

I mean its marketed as 17 its about 13 and the worst part is 0.80 mbps upload speed according to my Xbox

We have one of our isp's digged a hole and installed some small pipe in there for fiber the pipe is going 3 meters from our house so we'll probably going to get an offer soon. But as of now im using 4G for 100/50 speeds. Because the dsl is about 12mbps

If that is on a wired connection, then it is shockingly bad. However If you are using the xbox wireless adapter, then it's understandable. I recently switched to fibre because I often download/upload large files. I save quite a bit of time, but I was only on 7 down / 1 up beforehand. For streaming 1080p videos, the upgrade made no difference, I only notice the difference when streaming 4K. Also most of the uk isps give better wireless router to their fibre customers (5Ghz, QoS, more ethernet port and usb ports ...etc), so if you are in a densely populated area that should be helpful.

you wont notice 17 to 40.... youre very very wrong.

this is with bt in the uk, luckily for me the cabinet isnt far and im connected at 80 down 20 up with my line being able to support just over 80, that was a lucky escape.
