Question for 980ti SLI owners

blu4

I am having a problems with my 980tis for Witcher 3. Playing at 4K 60FPS the game runs butter smooth for some time and then starts having micro stutter, still keeping stable 60FPS however, it doesn't feel very smooth. It only happens at 4K. I've turned down every graphic setting and it still micro stutters from time to time. 980TI sli owners, do you have this problem?

That´s the Reason i choose single GPU over SLI anytime.

I know that doesnt help you, but you can´t do anything about it.

There is no solution yet.

Edit: That´s a SLI/CF Problem in general. It has nothing to do with the 980Ti in particular.

At 35fps or below, not at 60.

My friend has three 980Tis watercooled and she gets stuttering at 4K in FF 14, but it doesn't happen at lower resolutions, so it may be something to do with the 980Ti cards and 4K themselves.

Have you attempted a modified vBIOS to see if it fixes the issue?

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

Right. I guess I'm lucky I don't see it happen at any fps then. Or at all, really. Over the last two years. Over various driver revisions. Over stock and custom vBIOSes. Over windows 7, 8-upgraded-from-7, 8-fresh-installed, 8.1-upgraded-from-8 and 8.1-fresh-installed.

i am not sure but i was watching some video on youtube and that guy said that micro stuttering is more noticeable in i5s and not in i7, meaning quad core with hyper threading do not cause micro stuttering, also he was talking about crysis 3 and witcher 3, he too had 980ti in sli, he was comparing i7-4790k to i5-6600k. where 6600k oc had micro stuttering,

sorry cannot find the video to link it. it was a random youtube watch you how it is.

Yeah I heard about this when buying a new monitor last month. G Sync works better with a single card as well as gaming. I have a SLi set up and sometimes get a little stutter myself

I used to get stutters in ff14 when i was running a single 980 and I would drop bellow 60 fps. Now running 2 980tis and the stutters are gone Im also running windows 7 so it could also be what ever OS they are running or drivers.
