Yes you can... But those CPUs are 7100 bucks EACH... So...

Are you seriously implying that anyone that asks a question about these processors are shitposting?

@Suffokation Sometimes.. But why would you set those 36 thread monsters in dual cpu mode (except for extreme conditions)? I think that's extremely rare that some person would do this...

That's an incredibly naive statement. The processors exist to be USED, and so do the multi-socket motherboards intended for them. Just because its a rare use case doesn't mean it's a lie.

@Suffokation Those processors are meant to be used in high-performance servers, not at home. I don't think anyone would set them up in their servers/PCs except for companies and some rich guys... :P

@Suffokation And if he only wants to dual cpu these, he can get an E5-2699v3 as well... For 3500$ less than the e7.

I would, but I don't have $14k to spend on CPU's, so I'm planning on using Opterons(or maybe Zen) instead. These CPU's are worthless for most consumers, but some people need this kind of power for things(in my case, rendering while running VM's).

@QueenDemetria I would "use" them too if I had the money... Some kind of people really need those, but not the average consumer... Setting up e7-8890v3s in dual CPU mode is worthless too... You can get a e5-2699v3 for around $3500 less...  If you want to use 3TB of RAM, the e7-8890v3 is your favourite... But if you don't have so much money (or you want a higher turbo boost clock), the e5 is your favourite CPU :)
