budget build HELP!

fehllyy

hi all

I am currently working on list of parts for my friend. He has a budget of around $570 $580 AUD (Australian dollars). If anyone can come up with a build that is better then mine, please let me know.

current list:

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258

GPU: MSI R7 260X (because it is better then the GTX 750 ti)

MO-BO: ASrock H97m

RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 8GB 1866MHz DDR3

PSU: EVGA 500 W1

CASE: Fractal design Core 1100

HDD: Seagate 3.5" Barracuda 500GB

if you can come up wit ha better build, please make sure that the parts can ship to Australia.

Cheers,

Ajax ;)

Ebay it.

Core 2 Quad ~$35

LGA 775 computer ~$30 (Use its motherboard and case, possible even PSU and Ram)

4GB DDR2 Ram ~$30

New PSU ~$70

New HDD ~$60

EDIT - I forgot about GPU's

Maybe a 7950 for ~$100

A PSU would be more like $40 though.

If you're looking for a budget build in AUD, then buying used is a good choice seeing as parts there are highly expensive. You should buy the GPU used because those are things that wouldn't die out really and the price for older GPU's fall quickly (Bought a used 660 ti for $125CAD.) Things that should be bought new are hard drives since buying one used can have viruses or be damaged, and you can lose data. A case should be bought new since all components are stored in there and if a case has something broken or has something missing, you're fucked. Buying a new PSU isn't a bad idea but if you can find a decent reliable PSU from EVGA or antec, you should go for it.
