Blizzard Downloader Speed?

TheKDub

So I'm re-downloading Diablo III RoS, and earlier I ran a speedtest earlier and was getting roughly 90Mb/s down 12Mb/s up.

The Blizzard Downloader is currently reading 30MB/s aka 240Mb/s...

Has blizzard discovered some way to increase download speeds? or is it just a bad reading?

It could be, but with the speed that the remaining file size is going down, I'd guess it's not :/

I'm still not sure what you're trying to say :/

How long did it take to download?

Maybe 10 minutes or so for it to be 1/2 way done (7.5GB) so roughly 13MB/s

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the downloader estimate is bs lol, though I wish it was true... 30MB/s would be freakin awesome xD

It could also be factoring in installation speed to your hard drive? I think Origin does this as well.

Blizzard has amazing P2P iirc, it's like how torrents work

I've got it on my SSD :P

That still wouldn't make the speed increase past my network speed.. :/ (and I'm the only one in my house with D3)

Oh boy... I really hope the patcher meant to say Megabits per second (Mb/s not MB/s), then it would actually be possible with your internet speed

Even then it wouldn't be accurate, in roughly 10 minutes I had around 7.5GB downloaded, which is roughly 13MB/s, or 108Mb/s, which is realistic.

Alright, you're blessed. 7.5gb in 10 minutes. Don't question good things
