Xeon Vs. i5

Xeon E3 1231V3

VS.

i5 4690K

What I do:
Play CS:GO primarily

Record clips very often
Render them

render other things

Photoshop

other media creation

What I don't do:

I will be pairing this with a coolermaster hyper 212 EVO

and even with an unlocked CPU I won't be overclocking.

So which would be better?

Agreed, the hyperthreading of the Xeon will benefit you more.

The Xeon hands down. If it was only gaming then maybe the i5, but since you're not overclocking anyway, get the xeon. Also, did you already bought the cooler? cause for a xeon there are better, quieter options at the same or lower price, or you can use a cheaper cooler since...it's a xeon.

Without overclocking, the Xeon will be better.

should I just use the stock intel cooler off of an old 1155 board with new paste? it would be nice to save 35 dollars..

I'm not an Overclocker and I don't plan on learning, I don't like it on air cooling and watercooling isnt within my budget.

Well, i would buy aftermarket for noise levels and comfortable temps overall (I hate stock coolers and they hate me back, so i'm kinda biased)  so i'll leave some alternatives

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rrgmm416pkr2

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

I would go with either the thermalright true spirit or cryorig H7 for best performance and noise, but the cheaper ones should work just fine and i think there is a gain to be had with top flow coolers if you're not overclocking since they are enough for stock but cool your mobo and memory.

The Cooler Master TX3 or Deepcool gamaxx could run you $20 or less. (sorry for double post)

If you were happy with the old stock cooler though, I don't see anything wrong with that either.

You actually responded to 'yo momma'? LMAO Well, he said he doesn't overclock, so if you don't have anything positive to add to the discusion other than stating useless shit, fuck off.
