Hey guys,

So I'm about to make the switch to an Intel processor for the first time in like 8 years and I'm curious if my selection/mobo pairing is decent for what I'm expecting out of my build. I've only really built 2 PCs so more experienced advice is what I'm seeking here. I'm looking at picking up an i7 4790k Devil's Canyon and an ASUS Z97-AR-R Board. What I wanna know is if I've chosen a decent board for overclocking in the future; and whether this processor/board will last me through a few generations of gaming and heavy use.

All advice is greatly appreciated, and a quick scope of your credentials (if you have any) would be awesome :) (eg: A+ Certification, Builder/Entuhiast- 5 yrs).

Edit: One more thing, I have an H60 right now but I don't really like my components under water. Does anyone know if  the stock cooler on here is worth using?

Stock cooler is ok enough for stock speeds, but is loud.

Evo is fine, but I don't personally think aios under 240mm make sense for cpus when air coolers exist (although for htpc or itx cases the small aios are really nice.)
