Razer haters?

So I have been around a couple of forums and everywhere you go that has anything to do with anything Razer makes someone always says "anything but Razer".

Because of this I got very confused because I own a Razer naga 2014 which is amazing and very comfortable to use, goliathus extended, a very clean mouse mat(the main reason i got it cause its huge and looks sweet) and kraken pro which I admit has overpowering base but is amazingly comfy.

I also plan to get the black widow ultimate.

Yes I would consider myself a fanboy (mainly because I want things to match just a bit ocd[emoji6] )

So what's the deal? So far I have had good luck with all the products I own and the looks of them imo look awesome. I wear my krakens around all the time.

I hope this won't become a rant on me for liking Razer but what the hell? Post away!

People say it's cheap and poopy. Yes they have had problems but so does Corsair and many other brands. They're fine in my books.

Only Razer product I own currently is the deathstalker which I cut in half to make fit beside my mouse.

Razer's mice are good, and it's pretty hard to make a bad mouse pad. But it sort of stops there for me. You're paying for branding and packaging, not quality. They use cheaper, not as good quality switches on their keyboards (compared to Cherry MX), their headsets just aren't very good and the rest of their products have a reputation for breaking quickly.

I didnt have a problem with my Razer mouse, its lived its life (over 2 years now) and its beginning to show its age.

But overall, Im glad that it lasted me as long as it has, served as a good mouse but I can comfortably say that I will be moving to something better when the time to replace it comes around

You cuted it in half and still works?! I'd say they do have good quality!

Their products are made cheaply, and there are heaps of people who have had bad experiences with them. Not to mention they are overpriced and they market all their products to kids.

My Razor Sabertooth broke in 2mo. I have 3 friends that all bought Razor Blackwidows and they ALL broke in 3-4mo. Don't bother with anything but their mice!

You created a thread calling out people for hating on a brand that offers MOSTLY cheap built/overpriced product. I'm pretty sure it'll turn into a rant thread or get locked. lmao

Imo i think it is to mainstream, they have become the apple or Samsung of pc game accessories i think. however that doesn't make them bad just price/performance may not stack up to other brands. 

I run my own indie game company called Color Dragon Studios where we are currently making a 2d platformer game called Small Earth.

That's the thing everyone says its cheap. Then nothing else that could be anyone's opinion which was why I got confused.

I've had several of the OLD nagas due to a double click issue(rma'ing 3 of them). Their audio is pretty generic, overly bass heavy, gaming sound. Some stuff looks 'okay' while most of the stuff feels cheap. I've tried the newer NAGA and the design was good but it felt cheap in the hand compared to other mice.

Unforutenly my Deathadder 2013 broke after 2 years, however I have had no issues with any of their keyboards, I originally used their Deathstalker as I like the chiclet style keys, I also have their old style extended glotiathus mouse pad, as when I bought it, it was the only mouse pad like it easily available in the UK. Then in their big sale last year I managed to pick up a Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth, and I have had no issues at all with it.

I would not pay full price for it, and if it was to break I would probably just end up getting something like a CM Quickfire, or a Ducky Shine... but I dunno, it's nice enough.

I've never paid full price for a Razer product. I don't feel they're worth the full RRP. Then again most peripherals imo are way over priced for what they are. But I don't have an issue with Razer products. I've owned 2 of their mice, 3 of their keyboards & 2 mouse pads. I don't have an issue with them apart from the rubberised finish they use on the Lycosa keyboards, I wore those away within like 12 months on one and under 6 months on another.

hate is a strong word you just simply dont like them like how you dont like some foods. hit and miss. though anything is better then thermaltake products

I bought a mouse pad, green and black happen to be my favorite color combo, as with many,so why not. Its not horrible and i don't think it will break or fray, it might.

I can't stand their keyboards! They claim they are green switch they are a mushy blue. Also they are like the Apple of PCs. Too many people buy them just because it is Razer

Razers are like Beats.  They both sell overpriced products aimed at people who want style over function. Both of them also suffer from subpar build quality.

 

If you want the best bang for you buck, then I wouldn't go their products.
