Minecraft servers stop working.

northeastgamer

So, I just moved up to a boarding school for the year, and finally got my rig all set up. However, even with a ballin 100mpbs ethernet connection whenever I log on to any of my favorite minecraft servers, it kicks me after anywhere from 2 to 15 mins after joining and gives me the error screen that reads : Internet Exception: java.io.IOException: an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

What does this mean? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I just got a new IP on my machine??? HELP

are you launching it with a batch file so it has more ram?

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

The server is kicking you off for some reason, either your ping is too high so the server auto kicks you or you're doing something stupid within the servers. If you're using wireless trying switching to ethernet

 | CPU: AMD FX 8350 + H100i | GPU: AMD R9 290X + NZXT Kraken | RAM: HyperX Beast 2033 16GB | PSU: EVGA G2 | MOBO: ASRock 970M |

| CASE: Corsair Carbide 88R |STORAGE: 1x WD Black | KEYBOARD: Corsair K70 | MOUSE: R.A.T 9 |

SOMETIMES LOSING THE BATTLE, MEANS YOU CAN WIN THE WAR

maybe it's just being flaky. if it persists and you are sure that it's not just your computer having something like an unstable oc (minecraft used to crash when I had an unstable oc) then contact the person running the server.

A lot of my friends at the university have this problem on the games they play (such as CS:GO and other fps). They have 100mb/s up and down but they simply lose connection because there are so many devices connected to and sharing the connection. Granted this is at a university with hundreds of devices using the internet at any given moment. If they allow you to, I recommend getting your own router or possibly even buying your own internet connection through another ISP.
