Minecraft Server Ping AWFUL?

Lavish

For some reason when i play minecraft multiplayer I get awful ping. Planetside 2 seems to run just fine with no lag, but everything jumps around. Obviously its internet lag, but is it my internet? My browser is fast, planetside 2 works fine, I have tried Badlion, Mineplex, kohi, MCSG, everything and it all lags around. Im hardwired so it cant be my connection to the router? Can anyone provide insight?

It depends on server location. If you're on the other side of the planet, or continent you're going to get shit ping. Planetside you select your region, or it does it automatically, minecraft doesn't. The server you play on can be across the world and you might not know.

Im towards the middle of the US, Mountain time. I dont think im too far, considering some west coast players are able to play with good ping.

Also in kohi lobbys i get great ping, but in actual 1v1s its bad.

MCSG is EU and the other servers are EU depending on what ip you put in

It cant be my pc, My specs are

4690k

GTX 970

MSI Z97 Gaming 5

8GB GSkill Ripjaws

EVGA Supernova 750g2

Edit : My internet - https://gyazo.com/ce43b42f4454bc71979582bceb8007f3

I was talking to a employee from my internet provider installing a DSL hookup in another room, and he said there were alot of junctions, or something like that that was slowing down the internet.

Well damn, that ping is a little bit high, and your connection speed is pretty pewp lol, that could be the reason for it.

I'm actually pretty shocked by the results I got, last test I ran I only got 60Mb/s, now I get 90Mb/s xD

Potato internet speed and you have a higher ping than I do. I get 13ms with 50down/10up.

It might also be that the server is far away from you.

Plus, Minecraft servers in just how they operate is shitty.

Waiting for C++....

If mod makers weren't lazy and if Microsoft just gets the modding part right in the C++ version, the transition from java to c++ won't be that much of an issue.
