Using integrated speakers from 2 monitors

itachi737
Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

I know they don t sound very good. I have headphones for when I m gaming or watching movies, but sometimes, when I watch a video or two on youtube, I don t feel like putting them on.

I ll give a try to the surround sound and if it is really bad all just use my pb278q speakers.

It's a bad idea because they won't be in sync. There'll likely be a constant and noticeable echo.

Hello,

I have a dual monitor set-up, an asus vx238h and an asus pb278q. They both have integrated speakers, but right now my pc only outputs sound through monitor 1 (pb278q). Is there a way use both the speakers on my pb278q and vx238h?

Thank you for all your answers.

That would be a terrible idea mind you. They would sound totally different giving you awkward results, and I'm not going to get into how crappy monitor speakers are.

You are using native HDMI to connect at least one of the displays to your GPU, am I right? And that's the one with the sound working?

I am using display port for the main one ( that is the one that the sound is working right now, but I can switch between the two in control panel. I just can't figure out how to use both the speakers on monitor 1 and 2 at the same time.) and hdmi for the second one.

OK. I don't think you can use the sound output on the GPU like that. I mean, as far as I know, all the connectors share one sound processor and since it's digital, it's one device per processor unless you get an active splitter. You could use this advice and output to one of the displays through the analog out from your sound card. Albeit I think the 3,5mm jack on the display only works if the source is VGA. Hope I'm wrong about all of this.
