Bought 1.65 V RAM by mistake, will it work?

Hi,

I bought Kingston HyperX Genesis 1600 CL9 DDR3 RAM. On the label, its voltage is stated as 1.65 V.

I have bought the i5-3470 processor and the motherboard I am thinking about is Asus H61M-K microATX motherboard.

Shouldn't the voltage of RAM should be 1.5 V? I don't think Ivy bridge can run at 1.65 V RAM. But I have bought 1.65V by mistake.

Will I be able to use this RAM or will I have to sell it or return it.

Here, it says that -

Each module kit has been tested to run at DDR3-1600 at a low

latency timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V. The SPDs are programmed

to JEDEC standard latency DDR3-1600 timing of 11-11-11 at

1.5V. Each 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires

+1.5V. The JEDEC standard electrical and mechanical

specifications are as follows:

What does this mean? Can I use it in my build without problems? Should I still return it?

Thanks

I'm running 1.65 volt RAM at 1.5v just fine. Not gonna promise you it's going to work, but it should be fine if you already have it in your hands.

Did you like underclock it or something from the BIOS, or just put it in and hope it works.

It was 1.65 as default for me, but I have Sandy Bridge.

By the way, I see that you have Cooler Master Silencio as your case.

I was thinking fof buying Silencio 452 as my case. Do you recommend it? Are Silencio cases good? Any problems with them?

Thanks very much!

Silencio cases are good in my experience - I've not had issues with it - fairly silent and the fans are also decent.
