low upload obs stream help?

Angealy
Go to solution Solved by DEDRICK,

You can't do much with that bitrate.  You don't want to exceed 80% of your upload speed because you need some for the game itself.  When you saturate your upload your ping skyrockets.

In short, don't bother.  Not even worth watching because it would look horrendous and your ping would make games unplayable.  I'm not trying to piss in your cereal but it's completely unrealistic to stream in your current situation.

Hello, I'm a new streamer at twitch and i like to play games like osu! and stream it for the viewers.

However, my upload is about 748kbps so i'm very limited to what i can and cannot do.

I was hoping some of you may be able to help me out.

My goal=I'd like my stream to look it's best and sound it's best and still have it stable.

Oh, i almost forgot too i switched to OBS Multiplatform when i installed/switched to Windows 10.

I'll be leaving my computer info too as that may help you all.

Many thanks friends.

Either get a capture card or get a dedicated PC and use that to encode...

You need a lot of CPU horses to realtime encode @ 720p at that bitrate - You could drop down to 480p maybe.

Your problem is your bandwidth.

seriously, just forget it.

scratch that idea until you can have better upload (my problem isn't the money, but no other isp have better upload)

my upload bandwith is about the same (and it fluctuates a lot, sometimes even lower)

the best thing you can do is record offline at 720p/30fps and start youtube channel.

ofcourse that being said, you can force it to stream at 320/480p but that alone already using about most of bandwith usage, so your gaming experience will be unpleasant because high latency (nope, playing with 1000ms+ isn't fun)

@Blebekblebek:Yeah, i do need to forget about it for now and hope i can get a new isp with better upload some day.

@DEDRICK:No worries man, i kinda feared this was going to be the case but thanks for your input man i really appreciate it.
