Power grounding- footwear or no?

Aereldor

Hey guys,

I'm about to get started building my first ever PC, and had a question about power grounding. In case you were wondering, I do have an anti-static wristband.

I'm currently working on a wood table with a glass top and am standing on a marble tiled floor. Should I be using footwear or working barefoot?

Think rubber slippers would work? My shoes aren't too comfy.

You don't need either. If you're overly concerned then intermittently ground yourself on the case.

Novices generally overthink this WAY too much.

Wood table, marble top,  tiled floor and a wrist band , seems like overkill to me, and then to worry about what footwear...

The danger of damage from ESD is VASTLY over stated :as long as you don't do stupid things (clapping a cat ,rubbing a balloon etc) you should be fine.

Think that would come under 'etc' (i.e. I didn't even think of that) .  ;O)
