Macbook Pro Probem

Yali

Hey Guys.

I bought some Ram for my Macbok Pro (Mid 2009).

Kingston Technology 8GB Kit 1600MHz LV SODIMM 1.35V Apple Laptop Memory KTA-MB1600LK2/8G

So after i installed them I tried to power on my laptop but it made 3 Beep sounds.

SOOOO that (i think) means its either not installed the right way or its bad memory..

But i just got insecure because everyone tells me its ok to put in 1600mhz ram, it just clocks it back down to 1066. Is that bullshit or actually true and i just got bad mem?

Thx for any responses!

Take out 1 stick of ram and try turning it on, then take out that one and put in the other stick of ram.

I tried this with my parents' iMac and it worked fine. Although it was 1333mhz ram. I don't know, it could be a compatibility problem.

I don't think it's an orientation problem, RAM only goes in one way.

It's a Mac.

on topic: i remember hearing somewhere about "validated" memory for macbooks, but i doubt you can do much to "drm" a stick of ram.
