Windows 10 wifi not working, driver problems?

New PC is running win 10 and it's not detecting any wifi, the problem might be that i have not installed a wifi driver, but i don't know where to get the driver, i have a z97-a gaming 5 motherboard and it only comes with a killer ethernet driver, pls help! where can i download a wifi driver??

First you will need a Wi-Fi device, if your motherboard doesn't have one built in. AFAIK that mobo doesn't.

If you do have a Wi-Fi device then you need to know the name of the device.

 

You will either get the drivers with the disk that comes with the motherboard, or the by googling the device name you have. If the installer doesn't work then you may need to do as I did and add the driver manually. Just go to device manager (type "device manger" to the search thing) then find the device that needs drivers.

Select "update driver software" and navigate to the driver you downloaded, or if possible, navigate to the driver folder on the DVD.

Either a USB device or a pci-e card, I updated my first post because I accidentally posted it early.

Alright, thank you, one last question, say, if i already have a usb adapter, and installed my driver, then wifi should work right? but do i get the driver from the manufacturers who makes the usb adapter, from msi, or download it somewhere else? a link would be very very appreciated

I would first need to know the name of the adapter, you should be able to get a driver from the manufacturers website, not from MSI.

Also, if you go to device manger (instructions in my first post), you should be able to see a yellow warning triangle next to the device with no driver. If you see no warning sign then it might not be a driver issue.

You can also see the name of the device in device manager, that will help you find the driver online.

Umm, that board doesn't have WiFi built in.Did you buy a WiFi adapter by any chance?
