Weird HDMI sound issue

Hello LTT community!

 

Today, I gifted my old PC to a friend who connected it to his TV via HDMI. The sound works fine for about 10 minutes, but then it suddenly becomes completely unusable for some reason. It sounds slow-motion-ish and completely crappy.

 

The HDMI cable is connected to a Radeon HD6670, latest Catalyst driver (Version 2015.0804.21.41908).

OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

 

I read somewhere that the issue lies in the TV itself sometimes, but upon restarting the TV it doesn't get better. After a PC restart, the sound is good for another 10 min.

 

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
