Anyone else in PTU?

EpIcPoNaGe

I'm actually really surprised I was chosen to be in the "small group" that tests the PTU! I'm wondering who else was chosen cuz maybe we can talk about it and those who aren't in it, can be a part of it too. I don't think there was anything against talking about it, only screenshots and live streaming. However, they do state "We want everyone to have that epic feeling of wonder and surprise when they walk through that elevator for the first time!" so if you want it to be a surprise, don't read any further into this thread  :P

Yeah, currently its about a 30GB update. It might get bigger because they did say it is very basic. I wish you luck with your issue  :(

You really should fully uninstall and reinstall at some point. I am fully updated (save for current ptu) and my space requirements hasn't gone beyond 110gb.

Still new, but learning

I find this extremely odd. Is it the whole Cloud Imperium Games folder that's so big? Have you tried and deleting everything before?

From his earlier topic concerning this. It seems that when we had the changes in launcher and updates, he never cleared the old files. So he has a bunch of redundant and unused files in his folder. He should do a complete uninstall (and delete any files leftover) and reinstall to fix the issue.

Nope, but all I know is that I had 250 gigs free before SC and now I'm down to 50. (Nothing major downloaded since then).

As @drewjn said, you'd be best off uninstalling and deleting everything from your drive. At this point, nothing really is stored to your drive (as the matches are online and whatnot), so you won't lose anything.

Thing that has to be taken into consideration is that you would have to download the game again, but unless you have the worst internet of the world (or monthly caps) I don't see that as the worst thing.

For reference, my "Cloud Imperium Games" folder is 55.7GB and that includes the 30GB download of the Social Module PTU.

Yah, But I'm too damn lazy, that is until my hdd fills up after another update. Ya know what? Since I'm also in the ptu, I'm just gonna do it now, 30Mb/s down? that's only a night.

The guys at CIG are no fun. They updated the game and you can't go prone anymore with the controller bug. Didn't get to take a good look at the Connie.
