New m.2 SSD on Amazon 2,150MB/s read & 1,500MB/s write (Eluktro Pro-X Performance)

Go to solution Solved by Eluktronics,

Specs seems like a carbon copy of SM951. These guys buy flash from others, but does Samsung sell flash to others?

Hi everyone,

Yes, this is a rebranded Samsung SM951.  This is actually disclosed in the product description on Amazon as well as on our website.  For those of you who mentioned you don't want to lose out on warranty, this is exactly why we rebranded the product...  The SM951 is an OEM device and was not intended for consumers.  This means the seller of the device is solely responsible for assisting with warranty if a problem occurs.  Here is a link from TSSDR about our Eluktro Pro-X which explains everything about us:

http://www.thessdreview.com/daily-news/latest-buzz/ssd-of-the-week-eluktronics-eluktro-pro-x-performance-a-samsung-sm951-in-disguise/

Please let us know if you have any other questions and we'll be happy to help.

Eluktronics Inc.

"up to 2,150MB/sec read & up to 1,500MB/sec write speeds" You read that right!

This new SSD that was released a day or so ago on amazon claims to top the speeds of all the other SSD's currently listed on the User Benchmark website here.

You can buy it on Amazon for an awesome price for the performance. Amazon Purchase Link <--- See for yourself

Yup. I'd like to see this against the Samsung SM951 M.2 and the older XP941 M.2 SSDs... and against an Intel 750 series SSD :D

I'm very skeptical as well. Which is why I am hoping for some reviews of this product soon. I don't doubt that the newer SSDs being released have these capabilities though. I have been doing a lot of SSD research recently.

I'm not sure if these PCIe m.2 SSDs work in Raid 0. I'm not positive though.

Dmi 2.0 is saturated well before the limit of m.2 ultra.

The x99 interface and the dmi 3.0 however could in theory get some bonus from raid 0 m.2s (only two really though).

This just seems to be a sm951 rebrand and the 512 gb one is only 10 usd cheaper anyways so I will avoid it.

The speeds claim to be significantly faster than the SM951 and it also uses samsung components. Are you sure this one couldn't possibly be more worth for $10 less?

Speeds aren't different.

They are quoting the 512 speeds.

Iops look lower actually.

Seriously I'm not touching a clear rebrand for 10 dollars less when I lose out on all that warranty stuff.

Thank you for clarifying this! I'm actually pretty new to this stuff I've just been doing a lot of research because I will be building a workstation PC very soon. I'm looking at the 400GB  intel 750 Series at the moment but I'm keeping my eye out for anything new that samsung or intel will release in the next few months that might be better than the 750 series for a lower or similar price.

The SM951 That you linked me a review to is actually the NVMe version which has not been released yet to consumers to my knowledge. So I wouldn't even be able to get my hands on that SM951. :/

That's cause its oem. That said the ahci version is available as as far as I know it offers basically the same speeds with lower iops, which now that I think about it is probably exactly what this one is.

Compare to

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SM951-512GB-AHCI-MZHPV512HDGL-00000/dp/B00VELDBJ6

Yep. 100% identical.

Welp that confirms it.

We don't have any plans for an NVMe PCIe until our upcoming motherboard's with Skylake support the feature.

Thanks!
