Air cooler for mild overclock on 4960k

Gianni

Im looking for an air cooler for a 4960k. I plan on overclocking to around 4.0 at first and possibly higher later on to 4.2 - 4.3 What cpu coolers would be able to handle that while maintaining good temps, preferably 75 c and below. Im looking to spend up to 60 bucks and iv'e already looked at noctuas stuff but im not interested. Someting relatively silent would be good aswell.

I was thinking cryorig h5 or a be quiet cooler but i cant seem to find any in stock

What kind of dollars are you using?

Did you mean 4690k or 4960x?

H5 will be an excellent Choice.

4ghz will easily be achievable considering it's only .1 ghz more than the boost. And probably won't give you any more heat either (1-2c at most).

Cryorig are excellent, my r1 only hits 48c on prime95 (stock)

I ran my 5820k on a stock intel cooler (the one came with LGA 1150) and I was able to do 3.6Ghz without any issues.

Hyper 212 Evo would be a good choice as it is cheap and performs reasonably well.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

CRYORIG is awesome, but in case you don't find it on stock, Thermalright is excellent too, particularly the Macho and the True Spirit, it's so, so, so close to Noctua quality.

for me noctua is better not because of the temps but the quality and the warranty that comes with it also the support is superb and also they reply in german which is nice and a free upgrade kit if new socket comes out is also awesome
