Quiet 120mm Case Fans

Matt_Twinkletoes

I want to get some quiet 120mm case fans because my current case fans are pretty loud. But I don't want to get Noctua fans because I don't want to spend 20 dollars on each case fan. (budget below 20 dollars)

Corsair AF120s are pretty darn silent if you turn them down. Or you could get some oil and lubricate the motor too.

Plz don't recommend AF120s for quiet fans.

Any Be Quiet! models would be good.

Cougar Vortexs would be pretty great too.

Under noctua pricing.

I suppose the Pure Wings should be fine.

Silent Wings 2 are. Their other models are cheaper. For same price of a Silent Wings 2 you can get a Noctua Industrial fan. From what I been told by others who used BeQuiet fans, They don't push allot of air.

-----

phanteks fans are pretty good to use(I used some for a bit until I moved to Noctua). I also told Thermaltake Riing 12 fans are on the quiet side.

Current Build: Project Frost
Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon

You could get this pack of 4 from coolermaster there pretty decent I used them in a build for my friend. They are very quiet and push plenty of air.

They go for 12 dollars for all 4 fans It might seem really cheap which they are but its a good value.

Where are you putting the fans in the case? If you would like some recommendations on which fan to use for the mounting spot, it would help to list what you're cooling.

The new psu is unnecessary. The cx500 is already plenty for the planned upgrade.

It could be a bit cheaper: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZrbzTW

I'm unclear on whether the $20 budget is for every fan or for each but you should have some more money to spare if you skip the psu upgrade.

I'd recommend going with a single NF-S12A for bottom intake and rear exhaust instead. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-case-fan-nfs12apwm

You should be able to remove every other fan including the fan on the 212 Evo for adequate but quieter cooling.

Sickleflows are mediocre at best and the specs are bull.

Fractal fans are cool. I got a used pair of them for 12usd so look for used ones! There are Fractal users who sell their fans because they change them to Noctuas.
