Gigabyte or Asus LGA1151

Currently I'm planning to build a new system and I am debating over these two brands of motherboards. Help please.

Gigabyte for budget builds

both are very good brands. though it really depends on how much you want to spend on your build.  asus generaly looks better. but that pretty much just ends there.  and they usually cost a bit more.

My opinion is that most all of the Z170 boards look like shit, but if I had to choose a brand, I would go with Gigabyte. The boards are just more interesting looking than the X99 Z170 Deluxe .

Almost any motherboard manufacturer is good these days. It just comes down to personal preference in brands and looks. I personally prefer the MSI boards above anything.

I was on the same boat as you, I end up deciding on Gigabyte for 2 reasons:

 

1) I currently have the Asus Maximus VII and planning to give that to someone

2) I want to try out Gigabyte so I have better insight on different brands so I can help someone out.

 

And the big plus is that one of the boards is unique enough to try and build around it (GA Z170x Gaming 7)

 

But just like everyone said, nowadays you want to look for the features that you can appreciate having.

Go with Asus, they have the best MOBO on the market,if you have the budget for it

Generally i go with Asus but I have plenty of working Gigabyte stuff - Just the Asus BIOS is a tiny bit better..

ASUS is kinda overpriced but Gigabyte I heard much good and bad so if you want best of best and price is no issue go ASUS but did ya consider MSI?
