GTX 980 or GTX980ti for my PC

I am currently deciding between these two GPUs for my setup.  My pc specs are as follows:

I5 4670k @3.4

GTX 770 2gb

8GB Ram

1080p 75hz monitor

I have enough money set aside to buy a GTX 980ti but I am concerned that it will be bottlenecked by my processor, in which case would the 980 be a better bet?  I will be upgrading my monitor soon after.

980Ti is fine. Upgrade to a 1440p monitor though when you get the money

For 1080p gaming, both are kinda overkill in a way. But if you wanna delay an upgrade for quite a while in terms of having to upgrade your GPU, I'd say the 980 ti would be a better option.

I doubt an i5 will bottleneck anything. In SLI, questionable, but still...

I'd say get the 980Ti, but for 1080p its overkill so I advise you getting a 1440p monitor.

If you intend on upgrading your display 980 ti. it's a high resolution or surround card, for a single 1080p monitor a 980 is plenty, i have a 970 and haven't found a game i can't max out with 60 FPS framerates. But if you got the money and intentions on upgrading the display, for all means get a 980 ti, it's an amazing GPU.

Get 980 Ti.

There won't be a bottleneck.

You can even SLI it later.

No point buying the 980 right now, might as well get the 980Ti but then it would be really overkill for your 1080p so you can look forward getting a 1440p next upgrade.

What about getting the 980 and putting the difference into the new monitor?  Or would the 980 outdate quickly at 1440p?
