Blue or Brown?

Chugle

I'm thinking of getting a Thermaltake Poseidon Z or Zx, but I don't know whether to get the blue or brown switches.

Why not Red?

Also have you have a Mechanical Keyboard before?

You'd hardly see the switches unless you took off the keycaps.

Eh? It refers to a switch type, not so much the colour.

I personally prefer browns. The clicking of blues gets annoying after a while.

It's about the switch. You can't see them, but they're called brown, red, blue, black switches.

If you remove a keycap you can see the color.

Btw.: I would go for browns. More resistance.

It's your preference. Really need to test them out to tell which you prefer.

EDIT: I'm sure someone will link "the thread" which will help you choose.

Because it's not an option.

Totally depends on your style.

Cherry MX Reds - Red is best for gaming. Blue is best for typing. Brown are a good balance between the two.

Like others have said

There is no best switch for everyone

So the best way to find what's suited for you is to actually feel the switches first hand

It's up to you!  Take the quiz from my key switch link in my sig to find out what's the best for you!  It might be neither of those!

I disagree.  Reds are not always the best for gaming and blues are not the best for typing.  One person may be a better typer with reds because they are the best switch for them.  Likewise, someone may be better at gaming with blues or browns because it is the best for them.

Reds are good for nothing IMHO. theyre just mushy and I prefer cheapo membrane keyboards to reds. To each their own

OP, see if you can make your way to a proper computer store that has all the keyboard varieties on display and see what you like.

Blues are my fave for gaming, but they will piss off anybody in a 30 foot radius. Browns are a nice compromise.

When in doubt, re-format.

I agree with your statement though.

I didn't say that Red is "meant" for gaming. Blue is "meant" for typing. I said what is best for what.

But what I'm saying is, It is marketed as such.

People trust that.
