Would you rather buy a casio calculator that looks meh or a steel, professional looking abacus for almost twice the price? Assuming you need to get something done of course.

 

that metaphor is completely unfair.. since the Apple watch is just as functional as the Pebble time, and will imrpove with its app store which gets tons of developer support etc

The apple watch is LESS functional; the battery life above all cripples it. Maybe the comparison WAS unfair; would you prefer the casio, or a calculator that is beautiful but only has 4 hours of battery life when you need it the whole day (as well as being twice the price)?

Most people are easily getting over day out of it, which for me is fine, I take my watch off before bed, I just slap it on the charger and bam its good to go the next day

 

I dont see how its less functional.. it can do a lot, time, notifications, email, make phone calls, siri, fitness tracking, apps and games, control your camera and music etc etc etc

I had a smartwatch before they were cool now I dont even wear it because everyone's like is that the Apple watch even before it was out. Now my Sony smartwatch 2 is in a draw in my room somewhere

I had a watch I bought in 2008 in china, it was a full mobile phone, touch screen, bluetooth, camera, , the phone part clipped off the wrist strap when you got a call so you could use it like a phone

 

It was £40 / $62 USD

 

Somehow we have gone backwards  and charged 10x as much haha (well it was shit but still)

Sure some of the Samsung ones have had them, even a few years ago, the current ones dont, because the cameras are shit

Vessel videos go up around midnight (usually a touch earlier). That's our release time.

The forum was always intended to be the preview/sneak peek before the video goes live, which is what it still is now.

I honestly think sketchs would make the channel amazing. Do what Rooster Teeth did and just get a lot more people and start making all types of content. I would love to see Linus Cartoons, Scrap Yard Wars, Sketchs, and what ever you want.

Just depends on potential issues with the video and how much time I have in a day.

The battery issue is a non issue. The watch itself seems to have "quick charge" so your 15+ minutes in the shower and getting ready are actually enough to juice up from the day before, if you wear it to bed like I do (because honestly, the battery drain is spectacularly nonexistent) 

Calling it less functional is pretty bloody disingenuous at best. It has a battery life on par if not better than its rivals, which is really a mark against ALL smartwatches for not having a proper battery life. The Pebble is no proper smartwatch. It is a glorified notification reader above all else. My AW can run my home automation, it has a HR sensor that makes even dedicated fitness bands look bad, the NFC payments are pretty much a godsend for drivethroughs in the morning - don't even need to take a single thing out just reach over and tap while grabbing my drink. 

 

My AW also handles my drone for some functions. It gives me on the fly weather alerts for when its too windy to fly too. Simple things like handling replies when my phone was at my desk or dictating down notes on the fly. 

 

For me, its all the little things that add up to a very cohesive and wonderful experience, that is why I splurged and joined in early. 

 

And probably the most important thing - the AW looks like a piece of tech that actually looks acceptable in professional and social situations. Yea, everyone knows what it is. But it also doesn't look gaudy as hell (yea, even the gold ones. A gold Rolex looks more pretentious still). Its a 500 dollar watch, yes thats a lot, but my last watch that I bought was a used Omega Speedmaster and while that will outlast the AW in battery life and basic time telling functionality, thats it. I don't wear that one as much, I don't really wear ANY of my watches as much anymore because I find myself enjoying the smartwatch features more and more.

the moto 360 runs out of battery i heard i got a sony watch 3 and it lasts 1 and 1/2 days under heavy use and 2 days if i go a little easier on it
