Windows 10 Computer Freezing

I have had my computer for a little bit now it was given to me by a friend and recently it has been freezing with no warning the last time it froze i was able to open task manager just in time to see that my 120GB SSD was at a disk usage of 100% which to me felt like a problem considering i store almost everything on my 1TB hard drive. Im not sure if this is what is causing my computer to freeze or if it might be something else. If anyone has any solutions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated for your input

You have 2 critical errors in the past 24 hours, what are they?  (I'm willing to bet they are "Kernal-Power" or something of that nature.)

All "Kernel-Power" means is your computer restarted without being shut down properly.  Which is a great start, we're getting somewhere!

Double click on the kernel power error and find out the time, then go back and try to find "Error" field and find errors there that match the time.  Remember that the error needs to come BEFORE the Kernel Power failure.

Go ahead and do a SFC scan, this is a "System File Checker" where it will check your filing system for any discrepancies.  (assuming you have Windows 8)

a)      Move the mouse pointer to bottom left of the screen where you see preview of start menu and Right-click to bring up a list of Windows settings.

b)      Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’ to bring up elevated command prompt.

Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.

c)       In the command prompt type in the following command: ‘sfc /scannow’.

This will take a bit, but let me know what happens.  I'm willing to bet this has a 50% chance of solving any issue you might be having.

Okay, so either 1 of 2 things has happened.  Either 1) your storage device is failing or 2) Windows has reached a unusable state.  If it was my machine I would reinstall Windows right now.  That will allow you to determine if its the storage device.

I wouldn't bother, just see if you're having the same issues.
