Getting crashes with my new Crossfire setup...

Please help me out!

I recently purchased a second XFX R9-280X and I am trying to run in Crossfire. I ran into a couple of problems right off the bat.

Firstly, AMD CCC would not display the option to turn Crossfire on or off in the "gaming" tab. I have since discovered that if I power down my system and unplug and re-plug the Crossfire bridge, the option will be there on reboot. (It will disappear again if the my computer crashes and then reboots).

So once I get the option to enable Crossfire in CCC, I enable it and everything seems to go fine; The screen briefly goes black, and then everything appears to be working.

But if I either try to open GPU-Z or launch a game at this point, the computer will display a blue screen with some text about "drivers being in an infinite loop" (or something like that anyway), and thus my system crashes. Once I got a game to just freeze up and not totally crash, but I ended up having to hard shut down anyway.

I was also able to open GPU-Z ONCE after enabling crossfire, and it showed both my GPUs running in Crossfire as should. But then the computer promptly crashed after trying to launch a game.

I have reinstalled the latest AMD drivers (15.7.1) several times onto both my C: and D: drives, and have gotten nowhere. Can anyone help me out?

My system is:

AMD FX-8350

16 GB G-Skill DDR3 1600 memory

Asus M5A-99 FX Pro

Two XFX R9-280X's (using the included Crossfire bridge)

EVGA Supernova 1300W PSU

Samsung 850 EVO (120 GB)

Some 1TB HDD
