but if you wait for pascal then why not wait a bit longer for pascal's predecessor or wait a tad bit longer and get the predecessor or the predecessor.

seriously theres always new tech just around the corner. youll always be waiting..

and x10 ha.. 10% more like

I'm really looking forward to Pascal as I have a feeling it'll be a substantial step forward but note the 10x figure is the GPU-GPU interconnect bandwidth (NVLink) which will have more of an affect on server/computation applications than consumer applications (if its even available on consumer boards) it is NOT 10x performance unless they are HEAVILY bottlenecked by the interconnect.

If the HD 7750 in your profile is what you're really using right now, then no, I wouldn't wait. Pascal may end up being great, but that means another year or two of 7750 performance. There's games out right now that probably run like garbage at 1080p with that card, to say nothing of newer stuff.

Assume Pascal will improve on Maxwell by about as much as Maxwell improved on Kepler, and so on. With that in mind maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised, but 10x would break the laws of physics or something.

There is no point in waiting.

And even if it would be true (x10) no company on Earth would do this. NVidia will upgarde the Performance step by step to get as much money as possible.

Biggest load of Bullshit I have heard all week.

If I recall correctly there was only one metric that was 10x the performance. It's not all that surprising given they're moving to HBM.

Maybe they mean 10x improvement in double precision as Nvidia Gpus always sucked big time in that area. So they will just catch up but this will not be meaningful in gaming at all...

It's like they advertised Tegra X1 as 1 Tflop chip and they said it's almost as powerfull as XboxONE 1,3 Tflop  but Xbox is measured in FP32 not FP16 like Tegra X1. Or they said it's as fast as world's fastest supercomputer in year 2000 because it rocks in FP16. It's just riddiculus how Nvidia always tries to mess in customers heads and think we are morons omg :D

Hmm .... i posted topic about 1080p and 1440p monitor not long ago ....

Currently i am using  720p  monitor since 8-9years and i never played on any higher resulution.... never. 1440p monitors are over 1000+BGN on my contry and 1080p is 400-700BGN, the awesome people on this forum said to me that its not worth getting 1440p over 1080p because its not much improvment from 1080p to 1440p . I can definetly feel the difference beetween 1080p and 4K but i cant feel it from 1080p to 1440p and 4k is to overkill at the moment.

So at all 1080p is sweet spot but i still want to get Zotac 980ti AMP! Extreme or Evga 980ti Hybrid no matter what resulution. Correct me if i think wrong way or something !

Thanks in advance !! :)

Well I personally went with the 970 because all the game I play dont really need a 980ti and it made more sense to wait until the next release of graphics cards for now .

if you played on 1080p I think that alone would be a huge improvement from 720p . I have never played on 1440p or 4k so cant really say much about that. Basically grab a 980ti if you want above 60 fps on maxed settings in AAA games(gta 5, witcher 3) and you have a 144hz monitor otherwise I would go with the 970 .

Its a huge difference. Who ever tell you otherwise, know nothing or is simply lying.

IPS 1440p 144hz Gsync. That are the Specs you want with the 980Ti. Thats a Promise.

Biggest load of Bullshit I have heard all week.

It's not necessarily wrong, just misconstrued.

Pascal is said to improve COMPUTATIONAL performance, not gaming performance. It's specific to servers and workstations where compute performance is a necessity.
