Whatever comes with your cooler. Best value, about the same performance as any other thermal paste to ever exist. You only need to buy specific thermal paste if you're a professional overclocker or have an old cooler

Nude Fist 1: i5-4590-ASRock h97 Anniversary-16gb Samsung 1333mhz-MSI GTX 970-Corsair 300r-Seagate HDD(s)-EVGA SuperNOVA 750b2

Name comes from anagramed sticker for "TUF Inside" (A sticker that came with my original ASUS motherboard)

AS7, it's cheap it's good. Just don't get anything ceramic and your good. Even the most expensive thermal paste is only going to give you at best a 2 degree C difference. As for the motheroard, Intel NICs need the driver installed first before the NIC will even be detected so you might want to try reinstalling the driver and see if that helps.

Do you still have the original container? You generally don't use all of the thermal paste that comes with the cooler in one application

Personally I've used Corsair thermal paste and Cooler Master paste, I've heard that Zalman has a thermal paste with a brush, then there is Arctic Cooling pastes. I still prefer the thermal paste in a tube. I think any brand will do, its just thermal paste after all.

You usually don't use the entire tube of stock paste in one application

The new gtx series uses preapplied paste on the cooler. Generally all paste is going to be pretty similar. I have a preference for arctic silver.
