Looking for a laptop for use

Rexchaos

Hey guys

Im looking for a laptop thats NOT for gaming. i repeat NOT.

I'm strictly going to use the laptop for browsing/surfing the internet but it has to be smooth etc.

I have a few in mind right now

Asus zenbook

Dell xps 13

Hp spectre

Lenovo Yoga 3

Apple Air

I wish to find which one is reliable long term use for a good 2-3 years if possible. I am open to suggestions.

Also im asking for a friend in singapore however prices should vary similarish.

Thanks for the help!

The XPS 13 and the Spectre look nice. They're both pretty solid laptops in terms of performance, and they both have touchscreens.

Speedtests

WiFi - 7ms, 22Mb down, 10Mb up

Ethernet - 6ms, 47.5Mb down, 9.7Mb up

What about reliability though? Dell apart from their monitors are kinda sketchy imo.

Have you thought about a tablet? Possibly something like a Surface or Asus Transformer(are those things still around?)

I prefer laptop but thin ones thats portable and easy to carry like the macbooks.

whats your budget?

~1000 usd

In my past experiences ASUS is the undeclared king of reliability. Linus has previously owned the XPS13 and did a review on it(it also survived rain whilst turned on). As for HP, they offer nice-looking laptops with good specs for competitive prices. Their high-end offerings seem to have a more robust chassis compared to the lower end offerings though.
