Is there a reason why reltek sounds like shit?

Aytex

I have a dolby 7.1 usb soundcard for my g430 and it sounds great

but when I plug my Crossfades or Any headphones in general They are just staticy and horrible quality sound

Which ports are you using? The case ports or audio ports on the back of your board?

yea

Have you fiddled with any settings at all? Installed the latest audio drivers?

mhm installed all the latest stuff. i'll try to record what it sounds like

Are you SURE it's the latest revision? Realtek may have a later revision than what MSI offers.

is the Scarlett 2i 4 a DAC/amp?

my dad has one

yes it works. try it, you'll see your audio quality will improve by 150%, (if you have a decent pair of headphones/speakers) you'll notice.

Sadly I can confirm It's the board, my speakers sounded great on my horrible pc...they sound horrible on my okay pc because driver issues....and the only way I can get around it is with a driver update that turns off overclocking on my particular board :/

ok so I think the problem is there is more than one audio driver onboard. there is Realtek and the sound blaster cinema 2 which i cant open

MSI Gaming 5 Z97's fault. nuff said.

The board has alc1150 which shouldn't be as bad as the op described.

There is the "audio boost" thing on the board that's from Creative.
