need to update bios and need some help

i have the Z97 SLI KRAIT EDITION mother board and i need to update the bios due to my cpu stuck at idle clock speeds under load, i tried msi live update 6 but it wouldnt work. 

 

ive never updated  my bios before so im not quite sure how to do it. i do have the webpage that has the correct download however i have no idea what i doing :P

You need to go here. Download the .zip file, on a USB drive extract the 3 files, restart your PC and press DEL to open the BIOS UI, and select M-flash, if its still called that, then select Update BIOS, then select one file to update BIOS, then go through the selection process, then wait for it to complete. Should be easy to follow through. Can't give you more details, I don't own a MSI board anymore.

Flashing the BIOS has a degree of risk, be very sure of all the precautions before you attempt the flash.

Are you connecting to the board or to the case's USB (if any)?
