Noctua provides free mounting upgrade for Intel Skylake (Z170)‏

I got this info in an email today from Noctua:

 

"Vienna, August 3rd 2015 - Noctua today announced that it will continue 

its tradition of supplying customers with its premium-class SecuFirm2™ 
mounting kits for novel platforms free of charge. While most Noctua 
heatsinks support Skylake's LGA1151 socket out of the box, older models 
can be upgraded with the NM-i115x kit at no additional cost.

"We're determined to provide the best possible support to our customers 
and over the years, we've sent many thousands of mounting kits free of 
charge to users who wanted to upgrade to new platforms", says Mag. 
Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "With Skylake just around the corner, we're 
pleased to announce that we'll extend this offer for LGA1151. Owners of 
older Noctua retail heatsinks that don't support LGA1151 out of the box 
will be able to upgrade to the new socket free of charge!" ...
 

 

Is it dumb to be a fanboy for cooling parts?  The quality of service I've received from Noctua over the years...  amazing.

I can confirm that their support is excellent. One of my NF-F12 iPPC fans died (I guess I was unlucky) and I contacted them. They sent me a replacement fan immediately no questions asked. All the way from Austria too, and didn't have to pay for shipping. 10/10

Maybe my memory is sketchy but I think they have done this for the last few sockets....Kudos.

This is super, and it shows that Noctua trust in their products.

Hope Cooler Master do the same if the 212 EVO doesn't fit new sockets.

Now I understand why Noctua stuff is so expensive...

This is super, and it shows that Noctua trust in their products.

Hope Cooler Master do the same if the 212 EVO doesn't fit new sockets.

Now I understand why Noctua stuff is so expensive...

All the LGA115x sockets use the same mount.

Hell, Noctua sent me a mount for lga 1150 just because I asked. I straight up told them "I had been running on AMD, now I've switched over, but I lost my intel mounting hardware that came with the heatsink, so I could I buy a replacement intel mount?"

 

And they just said

 

"we'll send you a new one, should be there in two to three weeks"

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

I've had some pretty shitty customer service over the years and Noctua is not one of those cases. By far the best customer service I've ever dealt with so it's not surprise they continue being as good as they are today. There is fanboyism and then there is admiring a job well done.

Yeah it was awesome, they even threw in a free tube of thermal paste. Which wasn't needed because I'd already ordered some of that arctic silver stuff.

I can't think of any other computer part that lasts that long.  Well, maybe a power cable I guess.

I clean the dust out regularly. I've always had cases with dust filters which helps a lot.  Plus I'm constantly swapping out parts for new upgrades, so every time I open the case I clean it.

I have an NH-D14 I gifted to a firend (my RAM didn't fit D: ) and I have five Noctua fans at their system right now, so yeah, no complaints there.
