can GTX 760 handle 3440x1440

I was just passing near the local teh store and then suddenly i fell in love!

the ginormus screen of the lg 34'um95 will fit just perfectly on my desk but i am afraid that

my gtx760 will strugle handling all those pixels

a friend told me that 2 gb of vram wont be enough but i just wanted to ask some more people

what do i do?

i play blizard games mostly diablo 3

autoCAD in the near future (for school)

some amature video editing (premiere and photoshop)

and Word and Powerpoint homeworks

What do you think?

Can the asus 760 2gb vram will be ok or what shoud i update to if i buy this gorgeus monitor

(and are the price going down soon because its a prety expensive display fot a student like me :)

It's going to run, but it will suck at autocad (as it would regardless) and you won't get amazing performance in games.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Create a custom resolution and try it, you have to disable DSR if you have it enabled, just right click the desktop and find the nvidia control panel, from there,

VRAM doesn't mean shit when the card itself is not powerful enough, the 280 and 280x are pointless suggestions because the performance gain is marginal and would be an absolute waste of money.

You'll want at least an R9 290 for it, at least those can be bought pretty cheap. A GTX 760 can handle the pixels but not any serious load on the card like games or AutoCAD if you throw a lot of stuff at it.

Can confirm, i have a lg 34um95 and even with a 970 i was struggling. Now with a Titan X, damn the screen is gorgeous !

980Ti, FuryX or maybe 390/390x if you are really tight on budget but the first two for best results imo.

Yeah I have a 1920x1440 and a single 780 doesn't cut it for that, at least gaming on high settings.  760 would suck in my opinion.

You can. Crossfire is okay, it works pretty well.

Jesus Christ guys read the fucking OP.

Yes it will play Diablo 3 just fine at that resolution. It won't be the best for autocad but it will handle your gaming needs.

it will run.

I gamed at 4k with my gtx 770 2gb for ages. ran games at medium high settings.

so a 760 should be able to do 3440x1440 medium settings just as well on 2gb vram.

Don't get a 390, get a 290 or 290X if you can. The 390 is the same GPU as a 290 so you can save a lot of money by getting the old version.

Like I said, these applications will benefit from a more powerful card, but don't listen to the people talking about your gaming needs. They clearly didn't read your post where you said that you want to play Blizzard games and mainly Diablo 3 on it. These games are seriously not demanding and your 760 will be fine.

But those aren't going to handle games at that res. You are going to need something like a 390X, 980, Fury, or 980ti to play games at good settings and frame rate. Also for 3440x1440 4gb of VRAM is enough

Wrong. See above. They will handle Diablo 3 just fine. Try reading the OP next time mayhaps?

autocad 2009 runs on my laptop in my workshop with integrated graphics!

yeah loading large projects is a struggle but 2d drawing and some modeling is fine.

buy the monitor. use it with the 760,if you're not happy with the experience look to upgrade.

I think you'll be surprised what your card is capable of

Uh a 280, and 280X are essentially the same performance as a 760. 280X beats a 760 by a little, but a 280 ties it. That is not an upgrade at all.
