recently I bought cs go and I am getting the error: your files are different to the servers (or something along those lines).

steam suggests verifing the game cache and if that fails re-downloading the game. I have done both and they made no change. I have also tried putting it on a different hard drive incase the original one was corrupting it. nothing has worked. any suggestions. also, would having my gpu overclocked do it?

My rig: r7 1700 @ 3.9/1.35v, 16gb ddr4 3200, assorted rando SSDs, hx 1050, vega 64 1650/1025

Can't see any reason for the GPU OC to mess with the game files.

Try completely removing CS:GO from your Steam folder (deleting from the client doesn't remove all the files) and redownload.

You might also have a virus or some malware that's messing with the files

I did the delete all content on this computer thing...

Make sure you are trying to join a vanilla server, alot of servers are running some sort of mod. Also make sure you aren't in a beta update program for some reason.
