How reliable is g2a for games?

Beastattack
Go to solution Solved by werto165,

100% reliable, bought far cry 4, batman arkham knight, witcher 3 off there and had no problems, just buy the shield tho just in case. Shield covers you I think if the key doesn't work or it gets redacted but that's extremely rare.

Use a discount code: FRAGS (I think it's like 5% off or something along those lines) or you can go to g2a.com/r/jackfrags

@Beastattack

I want to know if G2A is reliable or not? Are the codes always genuine for games? If it's not, can I get a refund or something? Any sight better than it?

G2A is shady as shit and I would avoid at all cost. Companies like Microsoft and Steam sell their software at different prices in different locales, because people in third world countries can't afford the $100 USD for Windows, yet completely shutting them out from most software in the Technology age isn't cool, so Microsoft willingly sells to them "at a loss" (not really since software is free, but factoring in R/D etc it's a loss), so they can actually afford their product.

What G2A is doing, is allowing these super cheap keys, designed for poor people, to be sold in unintended markets that are against the TOS and EULA. Basically, here is what's happening if you buy at G2A: a poor person gets a free meal at a soup kitchen (cheap software in a 3rd world country), then instead of consuming it themselves they, breaking terms, sell it at a ridiculously cheap price to a regular joe from the US who wouldn't qualify for the soup kitchen. It's incredibly shady, against their terms of sale, use, and EULA, and in my opinion immoral. I would NEVER use G2A or any site like that.

The game developers can s*ck my d*ck. I rather give my money to that Russian guy or Polish so that they can make a small profit and have a better life.

Other than that, 99% games on G2A are recycled keys from other official resellers like GMG. I myself have bought a few games when they were on sale on GMG or from Humble Bundles and sold them on G2A a few weeks later for a profit.

Did you even looked at the prices of let's say CS:GO?

Historical Lowest Price: 2,99€ at Steam on Fri Mar 14 2014 (usually like 3.50€ during Summer Sale)

G2A lowest price now: 8,45 €

Most people have positive experiences with G2A, but no one can accurately say it is "100% reliable." We know, factually, that it's not 100% reliable. There have been occasional problems in the past.

Don't spend any money there that you aren't willing to take a very minor risk with.

This is 90% bullshit. In some cases, this is now true due to region locking by sellers to prevent this. However the majority of steep discounts still come directly from selling out-of-region. There has never been a sale on Windows 7 or 8 that puts it anywhere near $30, yet that's what they go for. You just managed to convince yourself that it's okay because of fringe cases that are only recently happening due to direct attempts by distributors to combat G2A's practices. Region locking, if it's not obvious, is anti-consumer and the result of people buying from places like G2A.

Lmao dude, I have bought my Windows 8 key for 29.99 from Microsoft itself like 2 years ago.  You are the one who is talking bullshit just like TotalBiscuit. You haven't done your research. G2A sells NOT ONE SINGLE KEY

It's called a grey market. In my analogies I never said G2A was the one selling the keys. They facilitate these back alley deals. Also, the only way you can get a full Windows key from Microsoft for less than $100 is if you use the dreamspark program (or whatever they call it now) as a student to get a non-transferrable licenses only for college students. I know. That's how I got mine. Legitimately.

This was back when Windows 8 came out. I could search and show you the e-mail invoice but CBA/IDC if you believe me.

Also, E-BAY and other second hand websites are also GREY MARKET?

Here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_market

A grey market is the trade of a commodity through distribution channels which are legal but are unofficial, unauthorised, or unintended by the original manufacturer. The most common type of grey market is the sale, by individuals or small companies not authorised by the manufacturer, of imported goods which would otherwise be either more expensive in the country to which they are being imported, or unavailable altogether.

In addition, software EULA/TOS/TOU always ban grey market reselling. I don't think you're aware of what you're claiming. Grey Market digital goods are super easy to sell across borders since there's no transportation costs involved. It's digital.

Why do you think Steam suddenly introduced region locking right after G2A and other similar sites became popular?

Before steam region lock this January, I used to buy steam-gifts from a Russian guy for prices way below G2A's. Rome 2 Total War was something like 17.50 during a sale, I got it for 5.25€.

Do you think I honestly care if UbiShit receives either 20-30$ or 60$ for one game?

If I didn't bought my games at the cheapest possible price, I wouldn't have a 980Ti now, I would have a R9 270 like you.
