Good price for the 970?

werto165

It seems like a really good deal:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagtx970series/gv-n970wf3oc-4gd.html

It's £260 with MGS:V  included, worth mentioning that MGS:V is now releasing at the same time as the consoles, September 1st. What's the difference from this and say the 970 g1 gaming(the g1 gaming is £20 more everywhere else) is it just a higher stock clock? Is the cooling capacity just the same? Also has anyone bought from nova tech before, their website seems professional and there are a lot a reviews on the website, just wondering if any of you have personally dealt with them.

This is pretty standard price.

Only go for G1 Gaming if you will be overclocking a lot

Well I never really bothered overclocking on my old GPU, probably because I have blower style cooler and it was terrible at cooling. Anything is an upgrade tbh. I don't think I will be overclocking too much so I think the cheaper windforce card is for me. I will be playing MGS:V anyway, if I were not, I would probably go towards the 390. There never seems to be a decent price on them tho...

I just paid €375.- for my G1 Gaming, which is about £263.- at current exhange rates (and given that the VAT is pretty much the same in Britain and the Netherlands), so I'd say that what you're looking at is a perfectly ordinary price...

Main Rig "Melanie" (click!) -- AMD Ryzen7 1800X • Gigabyte Aorus X370-Gaming 5 • 3x G.SKILL TridentZ 3200 8GB • Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming • Corsair RM750x • Phanteks Enthoo Pro --

HTPC "Keira" -- AMD Sempron 2650 • MSI AM1I • 2x Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 8GB • ASUS ENGTX 560Ti • Corsair SF450 • Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV Shift --

Laptop "Abbey" -- AMD E-350 • HP 646982-001 • 1x Samsung DDR3 1333 4GB • AMD Radeon HD 6310 • HP MU06 Notebook Battery • HP 635 case --

I guess it just depends on the region:

It's pretty much £10 cheaper than everywhere else and I've looked on amazon, ariaPC, scan, ebuyer, ebay(doesn't come with MGS:V). Yes not an amazing savings but still okay.

To be fair, I personally don't really look at price that much. Most shops are always going to be within only €20.- off each other anyway in this price bracket anyway, so I just prefer to buy my components at my personal favourite online retailer, because I know their shipping policy is solid and they have great customer service. To me, those things are more important than a small price difference. Then again, maybe that's just me being a bit peculiar...

I've never personally dealt with them before, but there are countless reviews online saying that they're great. I think I'm just going to get this. Thanks for the advice.
