taskbar icons way too big and taskbars color is black when right clicking

I had the same problem and after searching around I found that the update you need to uninstall is update KB3072318. I just uninstalled it and it fixed the problem!

hi, i bought and installed yesterday windows 8.1 pro and i noticed that when right clicking an app it shows the menu black and two big icons, i have no idea why this is happening. i haven't tried googling because i dont know how to properly search it. sry if the title is misleading or anything

do you have a theme installed? try looking in the personalize settings page

i used "big contrast white" and same thing

Weird. I had this issue before, but only when I tried installing a theme before I patched the windows files to accept them, leading to the text being black on a dark grey background.

I have the exact same problem. I also just installed and patched this new machine. I'm guessing one of the new updates messed it up.

 

If you find a solution please post it here. Thanks. 

 

PS: I did find that they background color for the menu is set bu the background of the metro start menu.

 

You can change that color by doing a search for Backgrond start. Then change the color.

FOUND IT !!!!!.

It s the upadtes. just remove the update that you installed today and everything will be back to  normal.
