Honestly I was just chilling on amazon, and this shit came up on my screen. U fokin wot Dell. Why are they pairing a high end i7 with an r9 270, yet advertising it as a gaming pc... I have to give it to Dell's marketing team though because somehow they sell this crap to imbeciles

That's the lowest end model dude. You can upgrade the GPU by going for a slightly higher end one

I feel sad for them, but all they see is advertising and every time you tell them it's overpriced they say they don't care because "Alienware is the best"

 

I don't bother with them at all as they don't care about people like us in the LTT forums

That is more overpriced than a mac pro. Its 2500$ with a 150$ GPU

Main problem with "gaming" prebuilts. Tout the cpu, and then put a crappy gpu.

 

At least with alienware, the point is to choose what you want, and you can get a better gpu.

why complain? if dell sells them and people are stupid enough to buy them.. then who cares??

there's people out there that bought the Toyota Pryus.. a hybrid car that gets worse economy than almost every other care avaliable.. yet I still see them every day!!

well yeah, you dont want people to be messing around in your system too much- one part goes, it takes others with it. You cant just smack a new mobo in that sucker without them reaching back into your pocket

Dell offers excellent warranty service with it though. Its not for everyone, but if you have the cash and don't want to build a rig, this is a great option. As for the choice of the GPU, not everyone wants a high-end one. Perhaps people are editing video and don't need all of that graphics power.
