Do stock coolers come with pre applied thermal paste?

as far as i know, yes they should.

CPU     4790K  4.7GHz @ 1.17 volts

MOBO  Asus Z97-K

GPU     980ti Strix

RAM    16GB G.Skill

Stock Thermal Paste is actually pretty good competing with things such as Arctic Silver.

Yes most if not all CPUs do.

Yes.

 

Though if you're like me, you'll clear it off and apply new paste for no real world gains, just to be a pedantic idiot.

Then he was being an ass, and an incorrect ass at that. This forum exists to ask questions, not to complain about people asking too many questions. As long as they're good questions that we can answer, then you should be good to go.
