Free PC Build for Friend.

Nosfy


Hey Guys.

Decided to build a PC to a friend of mine using some spare parts I have. I would just like your opinion. He will most likely only be playing things like League and FFXIV.

Open to advise/sugestions but bear in mind I have all this stuff already and he will be getting it for free so anything else i buy is out of my own pocket.

CPU - i5-3570k

Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V

RAM - 16gb - DDR3 1600mhz (Kingston HyperX)

GPU - GTX 680

CPU Cooling - Asetek 510LC (120mm rad).

PSU - Corsair CX600

SSD - 128gb Plexor

HDD - 2TB Baraccuda.

CPU - i7 8700K / Motherboard - ROG Strix Z370 E/ RAM - 32GB Cosair Vengeance DDR / GPU  - GTX 1080ti - EVGA FTW3 / PSU - Seasonic Snow Silent 750W / Cooling - Cryorig H7 Monitor - Acer X34 Predator / Sound - Corsair Void - Case - Meshify C

Yes it should be good to go.

If you havent the parts already, i would suggest to stay away from cx psu, but if he is going to play

light games like league, there should be no problems

From spare parts that is a great PC, just know 600W is a bit of a stretch if you plan to overclock.

never get seagate drives, they're cheaply made and have a very high failure rate within the first year. or atleast in my experience with over 20 seagate 4 tb barracudas

From spare parts that is a great PC, just know 600W is a bit of a stretch if you plan to overclock.

 

No overclocking. He is brand new to PC. I would be surprised if he ever even heard of overclocking.

You might not want to use the CX600 and get something more reliable since you cant overclock because CX series like hate heat.Like hate it

*Also I had to persuade him to have because he didn't want to game on PC. (Nintendo Fan Boy mainly).

no a 750ti is better than a 680.

oh I assumed because of the numbers it wasn't as powerful.

Bottom end of the 700 series vs. top end of the 600 series.

Well then... that's not a bad PC period, especially for free. I might recommend he gets a nice PSU himself but other than that it'll do the job for sure. That's generous of you if you really plan to give it to him
