hello i buit my pc and i wnt to know which one is better i have the intel i7 4790 @60htz but i saw on one of Linus's video building a gaming pc i saw he used amd i dont know what type it is but i just wanna know so choose and if you choose amd pls tell me the most best for gaming amd cpu even how much it will cost me

If you have the money to buy the 4790 then don't even consider AMD...

AMD doesnt have options of CPUs for gaming rightnow, just next year with AMD Zen probably.

Intel is my personal favourite but maybe in the coming years AMD will bounce back and win me over.

If you already have an i7 there is no good reason to go AMD, as an i7 is king right now.

Even on mini-ITX builds, an i3 will perform better. The only time I'd think you would go AMD is if you are on a budget quad core computer for games that require quad cores.

not really, as we discussed yesterday MANY if not MOST games out there purely rely on FAST processing cores, and MOST of them does not care if you have 2, 4 or 8 cores...when it comes to gaming it's all about speed and how fast your fastest CPU core can process the main thread for the game engine...and fast/strong CPU cores is something the AMD FX really does not have... i'll leave a link for you so you can see single-threaded LTT submitted cinebench R15 results so you can see that a 3.0ghz intel haswell chip completely beat the crap of even a 5.35ghz AMD FX...

 

So when it comes to overall gaming performance, believe it or not something like the little core i3-4160 will trade blows and in fact will win most against even an FX-9590. It will play anything that balance the load on 4 threads or less better than the AMD option, and this means: most games.

Pretty much ANYTHING in this list (except the G3258) that scores an higher single-threaded result will perform better in games than anything AMD has on the market right now.

 

Forget about number of ''cores'', clockspeed...high skew digit numbers...all this is IRRELEVANT TO GAMING...you can now look at ACTUAL PERFORMANCE NUMBERS...instructions per cycle processed on those AMD dinosaurs is WAY low and the performance is VERY disappointing.

intel haswell i5 / i7´s are better allround chips for gaming.

But ofc it all depends on the games you play and how you play them.

And ofc the budget.

I say if anything under i5 go AMD if its i5 or better then go for a OCable one its a good idea if you have a Z-mobo!

Get the 4790K with a nice watercooler to overclock it to 4.6-4.8Ghz and sell the 4790
