Help me pick compatible VRM heatsinks for my XFX R9 290 DD

duriel

was looking at this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7191/vid-106/Enzotech_BCC9_Memory_Ramsinks_-_14mm_x_14mm_x_9mm_-_8_Pack_BMR-C1L.html?

but wasn't sure if it was 'short' enough to clear the actual heatsink

anybody have experience on this? if i'm not going to be upgrading any time soon i want to at least make the most of my card, but VRM temps for my 290 are pretty average to 'bad'

so you're looking for VRM heatinks and not VRMs.. well I actually have those on both of my R9 290s - but as RAM heatinks since VRM are way smaller.

also I dont think it would fit or even be worth it to place those under a "stock" heatsink ;)

Bitfenix Phenom M White | ASUS RoG Maximus VIII Gene | Intel i7 6700K @4.6GHz | HyperX Savage 2800MHz CL14 DDR4 16GB | EVGA GTX1080 SC | Intel 750 Series PCIe SSD 400GB | EVGA SuperNova G2 550W | Windows 10 Professional x64 | Logitech G900, Corsair K70 RGB MXbrown O-ringed, BeyerDynamic DT880 (600 Ω) on Fiio E10K & Samson Meteor | Dell U2715H 27", Samsung SyncMaster P2450H 24", Samsung SyncMaster 931BF 19" | DIY Ambilight

non-reference coolers are not technically stock, but okay

are you saying you have the same heatsinks on your 290s? would you say they'd fit under the dd cooler?

I have both R9 290s on G10 brackets with AiO liquidcoolers. I used both the RAM and the VRM heatsinks from enzotech.

According to this it will be really close under the DD cooler:

There is no clearance to be found anywhere, but from what I can see I doubt they fit.

Regardless, even IF those heatsinks will be compatible, you will need to look for a different vendor to purchase them from.
