My WiFi keeps on disconnecting, but wired connections are fine!?

Fictionvl

Alright, so I went through a lot of routers because of this issue I've been having

so basically, my wired connection to my computer is fine in the house, but my WiFi is the issue, mobile devices in the house experience no connection issues from the router, and that made me go and buy a dual band router, hoping it will help me, anyways, let me explain.

The issue resolves every time I restart my router or reboot it. the issue is that after some time, the devices that are connected via wifi just drop the connection, and refuse to reconnect again, most of the devices in my house are apple devices ranging to iPhones to iPads, there's one laptop and then two other android phones.

my internet speed should be fine, as the use of these devices are not heavy and they dont download a lot of things.

the router I recently bought is a TP-Link TL-WDR4900 Router.

Talking to my ISP is basically useless because the people who work there are absolutely dumbfounded and know jack sh*t about networking, which makes me wonder how the fu*k they got the job.

I hope you guys can help me resolve this issue as fast as possible, thanks a lot!

Use insidder to scan for wifi signal strenght:

http://www.metageek.com/pricing/

You probably have poor wifi coverage. I bet the wifi signal wouldn't drop if your right next to the router.

The 5 GHz band does have shorter range than the (old) 2.4 GHz band. Shorter wave lengths travel shorter ;)

I could also be a problem with the DCHP service. Try setting static ip-adresses and see if it soloves the problem.

Set static ip-adresses in the router settings.

The range isn't the issue, I have the router in the middle of the house, and all users around around it so I doubt it being an issue

how can I set a static ip?

BTW, do you have alot of neighbors living close by, maybe their wifi interfere with yours? Try changing the chanel (frequency of your brodcast) or doing a chanel scan to check for interference?
