SLI with Dual Monitors (different refresh rates)

Hello

I'm currently using an SLI rig and one 1080p 60hz monitor. I'm looking into buying a 1440p 144hz monitor to play my games on, but I don't know if:
1. desktop worked when running 1080p 60hz and 1440p 144hz simultaneously
2. SLI was active when playing a game on the 144hz monitor (+3. with the 60hz monitor still being active and displaying my desktop)

It should work fine. The monitors will both need to be plugged into the top card though.

Yeah will work but if you have a app open on both monitors at the same time it can look a little odd.  Make sure they are both on the top card.

Thanks you all! So I will get SLI-performance even when running something in the desktop on the other monitor? great! Also, what happens to the refresh rate on the desktop when both monitors are in desktop-mode? Would I need 720 (LCM of 60 and 144) frames per second to get a stutter free experience on both monitors?
